The same river twice

CSH Protocols is meant to be a dynamic set of information. If it’s just a static collection of articles that never changes, then it’s no better than the paper manuals that came before. Just reproducing books online seems a waste of the potential that online publishing offers. So expect things to continuously evolve…

As our collection of material expands, we’re adding more Subject Categories, to improve navigation. In the last week we’ve added categories for Developmental Biology, Explant Culture and Behavioral Assays. Some of these are forward-looking categories, as we’ve got protocols in the pipeline to fill them in the next few months. Others just seemed to make sense with material already available. Remember that you can always set up a “Personal Page” for yourself and be sent an alert when a protocol in your favorite subject area is added.

As new articles are published, we do our best to go into our back-catalog and add links, making new connections wherever we can. Ideally, we’d like to enlist you, the reader, into this effort. We’re working on new tools to allow more and more customization and participation (although this assumes that biologists will eventually join in with online communities). So stay tuned for more developments, and feel free to drop me a line with any suggestions or complaints.
